Turfing & Lawn Installation

A new lawn changes how the whole garden feels. Furlads installs turf, seeded lawns and artificial grass in Market Drayton and surrounding areas, with the excavation, levels, soil preparation, drainage and edges handled as part of the job.

NATURAL TURF

Fresh turf gives an established green finish quickly. We remove unsuitable growth and material, prepare and level the ground, improve the growing layer where needed and lay quality turf with neat joints and edges. The result is ready to establish with the correct watering and aftercare.

SEEDED LAWNS

Seeding can be a sensible option for larger areas or where a slower establishment period is acceptable. The same careful preparation matters: clearing, cultivating, levelling and creating a suitable seed bed before sowing. We will advise when turf or seed is the better fit for the site, season and budget.

ARTIFICIAL GRASS

Artificial grass creates a tidy, low-maintenance surface for family gardens, awkward areas and spaces where a natural lawn struggles. We excavate, form a stable free-draining base, compact the correct layers, fit secure edges and install the grass neatly.

Typical artificial grass installations start from £110/m². This is a starting point rather than a fixed quote. Final cost depends on excavation, access, drainage, ground conditions, base depth, edging, waste removal, chosen grass and the shape of the area.

PREPARATION AND DRAINAGE

Good lawn installation starts below the surface. We assess levels and drainage, remove unsuitable soil or old lawn, prepare the correct base or growing layer and create a smooth, practical finish. Where waterlogging or poor falls are evident, any agreed drainage work is included clearly in the quote.

REAL FURLADS LAWN PROJECTS

Our work includes replacing uneven lawns with new turf, creating clean artificial lawns alongside patios and borders, preparing larger areas for seed, and combining lawns with fencing, paths, raised beds and complete garden transformations.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Should I choose turf or seed?
Turf gives a finished appearance sooner. Seed takes longer to establish but can suit larger prepared areas. We will recommend the practical option after seeing the garden.

Does artificial grass need a proper base?
Yes. Excavation, a stable compacted base, drainage and secure edges are essential for a lasting, even finish.

Can you remove my old lawn?
Yes. Removal, excavation and agreed waste disposal can be included in the quotation.

How long before I can use new turf?
It needs time to root and regular watering. We will explain the aftercare and likely establishment period for the season when the work is completed.

Do you provide routine mowing?
