Driveway Installation & Paving
A good driveway needs more than a neat surface. Furlads installs practical, hard-wearing driveways in Market Drayton and surrounding areas, with the excavation, levels, drainage, edging and waste removal considered as one complete job.
DRIVEWAY OPTIONS
• Block paving — a durable, repairable finish with a choice of layouts and contrasting borders. Suitable for complete replacements, extensions and clearly defined parking areas.
• Gravel driveways — a cost-effective, attractive option using a properly prepared base, suitable membrane and secure edging to help keep the stone contained.
• Combined finishes — block-paved borders, entrances or rumble strips can be paired with gravel where this suits the property and budget.
PREPARATION, EXCAVATION AND BUILD-UP
A driveway is only as reliable as the ground beneath it. We assess the existing surface and site levels, remove unsuitable paving or material, excavate to the required depth and install a compacted sub-base appropriate to the agreed finish. The exact build-up depends on the ground conditions and intended vehicle use.
DRAINAGE AND LEVELS
Falls are planned to move water away from buildings and prevent avoidable pooling. Where the site requires it, the quote can include suitable drainage channels or other agreed drainage measures. Access, existing levels, thresholds and buried services are checked before work begins.
EDGING AND FINISHING
Secure edging keeps gravel contained and gives block paving a clean, strong boundary. Options can include block borders, kerbs or other suitable restraints. We finish transitions around gates, paths, steps and the pavement carefully so the driveway works with the rest of the frontage.
REMOVAL AND WASTE
Old paving, concrete, soil and excavation waste can all affect the work required. Agreed removal is set out clearly in your written quote, along with any machinery or grab-wagon access needed.
GENUINE FURLADS DRIVEWAY WORK
Our work includes replacing worn block paving with new colour layouts and borders, preparing front gardens for gravel driveways, creating block-paved entrances and rumble strips, and combining driveways with paths, steps, fencing or wider garden improvements.
DRIVEWAY PRICING
Every driveway is priced after a site visit because area alone does not show the excavation, access, drainage, waste, edging or sub-base required. We will measure the site and provide a clear written quote for the agreed specification rather than give a misleading headline price.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can you remove an old driveway?
Yes. We can lift and remove existing block paving or other agreed surfaces and assess the base below before rebuilding.
Do you install both block paving and gravel?
Yes. We install block-paved and gravel driveways, including suitable edging and combined designs where appropriate.
Will my driveway need drainage?
That depends on levels, the existing surface and where water can discharge safely. We assess this during the site visit and include any agreed drainage work in the quote.
Can you extend an existing driveway?
Often, yes. We will check access, levels, the existing construction and how well new materials can be matched.
What affects the final price?
The size, excavation depth, ground conditions, access, drainage, chosen material, edging, cuts, machinery and amount of waste all affect the quotation.
